Challenges and objectives
How to engage new and existing fans of the author, Dan Brown through shareable dynamic video content. How can video play a central role in a broader campaign to promote the novel, ‘Origin‘?
Nemorin’s solution and activation
We teamed up with social agency BeeLiked and Doubleday Publishing to produce this personalised video for Dan Brown’s new novel, Origin.
After extensive creative development we settled on the theme of the ‘world’s first virtual book signing’, using innovative video personalisation technology to create a unique video content experience for audiences globally.
The shoot took place just outside Boston in the USA. A crew consisting of a director, camera operator, sound recordist and two producers flew from London for the multi-day production.
The challenge came from incorporating the personalised elements, which involved placing motion tracking dots on the objects and filming them in a specific way. Camera angles, lighting and depth of field all had to be considered.
It all came together perfectly; viewers’ names were incorporated into the introduction and written in Dan Brown’s own handwriting within the book. The campaign sat on a dedicated microsite and the personalised videos are created within moments. The user can choose to send the video to their own network via email and share on social media.
